Memos

I love the voice memos application on my phone. You can always carry around a sketchpad or camera when you find inspiration, but for me, music is different. Inspiration comes and goes in split seconds so I have to record them as I go along. Today's inspiration was variation. Small changes that make a huge difference in the composition. One key up, two keys down. Here's a little sample of what I'm talking about. Forgive the sound quality. Again, I was recording from my phone and my piano needs major tuning.

I have decided that my first entry will be about nothing important. It is the start of a new year, and I can feel my creative juices flowing. Maybe my long awaited hiatus from school will prove to be a productive one afterall. In the meantime, I am hoping this blog will guide me towards a definite direction as my interests tend to shift and broaden with each new day. Back to randomness, I'm connecting with this image and I feel like it really captures me...
